🍎 iOS Simulator

Requires Xcode (for simctl). The app's Mobile view shows the same devices with one-click boot.

bitl sim list # add --booted, --iphone or --ipad to filterbitl sim boot "iPhone 16 Pro" # by name or UDIDbitl sim screenshot # first booted simulator → ./screenshot-<time>.pngbitl sim screenshot "iPhone 16 Pro" -o ~/Desktop/home.pngbitl sim shutdown "iPhone 16 Pro"bitl sim shutdown all

🤖 Android Emulator

Requires the Android SDK. BitL looks in $ANDROID_HOME, $ANDROID_SDK_ROOT, then ~/Library/Android/sdk (Android Studio's default).

bitl emu list # add --running for live ones onlybitl emu start Pixel_8_API_35bitl emu start Pixel_8_API_35 --cold-boot # ignore the saved snapshotbitl emu stop Pixel_8_API_35bitl emu stop all

⚛️ Metro bundler

Starts Metro for React Native, or expo start for Expo projects, detected from package.json.

bitl metro start # current directory, port 8081bitl metro start --path ~/Code/app --port 8082 --clearbitl metro statusbitl metro restartbitl metro stop

🎯 Flutter

bitl flutter devices # simulators, emulators, plugged-in phonesbitl flutter doctor

Then run your app with the active SDK — flutter run — as usual. Installing and switching SDK versions is covered in Runtimes.

🦙 Ollama

Run language models locally, on localhost:11434.

bitl ollama install # official installer from ollama.combitl ollama startbitl ollama models --available # popular models to pullbitl ollama pull llama3.2:3bbitl ollama models # installed modelsbitl ollama rm llama3.2:3bbitl ollama statusbitl ollama stop

📓 Jupyter

bitl jupyter install # JupyterLab via pipbitl jupyter start # current directory, port 8888bitl jupyter start ~/notebooks -p 8890 --openbitl jupyter start --classic # the classic Notebook UIbitl jupyter listbitl jupyter stop # all servers (or pass a session id)
Tip. Point notebooks at a BitL-managed Python: bitl python use 3.12.8 first, or create a venv with bitl python venv and install Jupyter into it.
